Honeywell’s UniSim® Tutor is a web-based, game-style application that allows users to assess, capture and propagate plant operator knowledge. Trainees are presented challenging operating scenarios and evaluated on their response against pre-defined best practices.
UniSim® Tutor is part of the comprehensive UniSim® Competency Suite, a powerful collection of industrial software that provides a framework for process operations competency management.
How It Works
UniSim® Tutor is a stand-alone software offering with flexible deployment options allowing for a modular level of integration with existing competency management tools. It provides an effective supplement to Honeywell’s UniSim® Operations, the operator training simulator (OTS), and is fully integrated with UniSim® Curriculum’s competency library.
UniSim® Tutor provides four evaluation modes, challenging the trainee to demonstrate thorough understanding of cause and effect relationships that exist in the plant:
- Multiple Choice: Tests and validates basic understanding by posing various operational scenarios.
- What-If: Presents a fault and asks users to identify how other process measurements change in response.
- Hypothesis: Offers one or more process observations and challenges users to determine the root cause.
- Diagnose: A comprehensive algorithm that rewards trainees for logically arriving at the root cause.
