Honeywell Forge Named in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems

ATLANTA, April 29, 2021 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that Honeywell Forge has been positioned by Gartner as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).*

Gartner highlights, “a fundamental technological shift taking place in the MES market, driven by evolving new technologies that challenge the MES status quo and driven by vendors with the agility and talent to accelerate the adoption of those technologies.”

Vendors were evaluated based on their ability to execute and the completeness of their visions. Evaluations included factors such as customer service, global reach, operations, product/service capabilities, pricing, sales execution, marketing execution, market responsiveness and the customer experience.

Gartner defines MES as “a specialist class of production-oriented software that manages, monitors and synchronizes the execution of real-time physical processes involved in transforming raw materials into intermediate and/or finished goods.”

The report also notes how the pandemic has pushed manufacturers to embrace the agility of cloud-native, availability-anywhere systems. Gartner says that IIoT and edge capabilities keep maturing, and that the distinction between IIoT applications and traditional MES applications will continue to blur.
