Honeywell Completes Move of Performance Materials and Technologies Global Headquarters to Houston

Performance Materials and Technologies business now co-located with Honeywell Process Solutions at CityWestPlace

HOUSTON, August 11, 2021 – Honeywell today announced it has completed the move of its Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) business segment global headquarters to Houston, a rapidly expanding metropolitan area. The move has co-located PMT headquarters with its Honeywell Process Solutions unit in new company facilities located at CityWestPlace.

Honeywell PMT’s Houston location provides greater proximity to a broader set of current and prospective customers in Texas. Honeywell now employs more than 850 people in Houston.

CityWestPlace will also soon be home to a state-of-the-art visitor showcase of Honeywell’s most advanced technologies that help improve safety, reliability, efficiency and profitability for industrial customers, including the largest oil and gas companies. At Honeywell’s new Customer Excellence Center, customers and potential customers will be able to experience the full range of the company’s automation products and services that connect data collected from field sensors up to the boardroom.

“Houston a diverse and rapidly growing city and locating our headquarters here will help us meet our long-term needs to recruit and retain premier talent in our industry. It will also allow us to builder closer, more impactful relationships with our Texas-based customers,” said Vimal Kapur, Honeywell PMT president and chief executive officer.

“Today’s exciting announcement from Honeywell is another example of Houston’s momentum to lead the global energy transition,” said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. “We are thrilled Honeywell has chosen Houston for its relocation of its Performance Materials and Technologies business. It’s a win-win for Honeywell and Houston.”

“As the Energy Capital of the World, Houston has the talent and expertise to amplify Honeywell’s sustainability work. And with their focus on key components of the energy transition, including carbon capture, energy storage and hydrogen, Honeywell’s PMT business unit will serve as a critical partner in Houston’s effort to lead the energy transition. I want to thank Honeywell for strengthening their ties to Houston and I look forward to working with them in the future,” Turner added.

“Honeywell’s decision to relocate its Performance Materials and Technologies business unit to Houston is a testament to our region’s strength as a thriving innovation hub and a center for advanced materials technology,” said Bob Harvey, president and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership. “Houston has a rich history of groundbreaking developments in science and engineering. With today’s announcement, Honeywell marks a major milestone in our region’s innovation growth. We thank Honeywell for their continued investment in the Houston community.”
