What Is It?
The 4973 series ensures reliable, continuous measurement of electrolytic conductivity in industrial water processes where the temperature and pressure limits are high.
Made of polyethersulfone (PES) for high-corrosion resistance, the cells are available with titanium electrodes (for 0.01 and 0.1 cell constants) and high-density graphite (for 1.0 and 10.0 cell constants). The wide array of cell constants available makes them ideal for diverse applications.
With multiple mounting options such as, flow-thru and in-line, the 4973 series is easy to install. The 4974 style uses this series of cells for sanitary installations. The cells are mounted using an industry standard tri-clamp flange, a common mounting arrangement.
How Does It Work?
Conductivity cells actually measure the resistance of the liquid they are in. The 4973 series provides continuous, reliable measurements at temperatures up to 140°C and pressures up to 250 psig.
For in-line applications these cells can be installed directly into the process pipe in a separately supplied ¾-inch tee or in a by-pass stream. For flow-thru applications the cell is mounted in a separately supplied flow chamber.
The cells keep the electrodes and the temperature compensator immersed in the stream flow, ensuring that the cell responds quickly and accurately to changes in both solution concentration and temperature. For sanitary clean-in-place (CIP) piping systems, the 4974 style includes standard 1 ½-inch or 2-inch CIP fittings.
What Problems Does It Solve?
The 4973 series simplifies the conductivity measurement process and improves overall process efficiency. It provides users with a reliable, cost-effective and accurate solution and is suited for a wide range of applications, including high purity water measurements.
The rugged design of this series ensures easy installation, maintenance and replacement.
