Honeywell's Single-Sided Scanner supports reflectance infrared measurement of sheet moisture and/or the weight of coatings applied to one side of a sheet.

What Is It?
The Single-Sided Scanner supports Honeywell’s portfolio of reflectance sensors for measuring moisture and/or coat weight.
How Does It Work?
A heavy-duty steel U-beam provides rigid sensor support for the widest sheet manufacturing processes, with environmental and thermal protection for the internal drive and powertrack components. An environmentally protected head ensures stable, accurate measurement under any process conditions. Multiple head mounting configurations are available to position the sensor at any passline angle. The scanner’s low-profile design allows installation in confined paper machine wet end, size press, and coater applications.
What Problems Does It Solve?
The Single-Sided Scanner and reflectance sensors provides accurate, and reliable, measurement of moisture and/or coat weight in locations where an O-Frame scanner with dual-sided sensors cannot be installed, such as paper machine dryer sections and coating stations. The measurements can be used for control of paper machine drying sections or coating stations.
