Overview
Experion PMD Field Controller Express (FCE) controllers are easily configurable and make maintenance easy and cost effective. It comes with a wide range of plant control methods and high control capacity to meet the diverse needs of various industries, including pulp and paper, metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food and beverage. The new release is fully scalable and continues to support migration from Honeywell’s TotalPlant Alcont (TPA) systems.
How Does It Work??
The FCE Controller comprises a processor unit configured for high performance, two Profibus or Profinet fieldbus interfaces, a multi-speed Upline/IOline highway interface which can connect TotalPlant Alcont’s I/O extension racks.
The FCE Controller uses heat pipe cooling technology, instead of cooling fans, to improve reliability and ease-of-use.
The controller connects to the automation system’s network via Ethernet. The FCE Controller generates and relays normal channel I/O data as well as channel-specific diagnostic and status data for each connected I/O unit. The automation system displays this uniformly, regardless of the device or fieldbus in use. Diagnostic and alarm data also appear on the automation system and are automatically routed to the system’s alarm mechanism.
