CNI2 Pulse Accumulator
The Honeywell CNI2 (Cellular Network Interface 2) is a pulse accumulator/serial data communications product with an integral cellular radio transceiver. Pulse signal and alarm inputs can be supplied from an external EVC or other measurement device.

What Is It?
CNI2 is equipped with a host of features:
CNI2 supports both pulse counting inputs and alarm trigger inputs. Pulse signal inputs (dry contact) and alarm inputs can be supplied from an external electronic corrector or other measurement device. An index base option with both a mechanical index display and pulse switch output is available. Serial data communications with a corrector or similar instrument are also possible using either an RS-232 or RS-485 connection.
What Problems Does It Solve?
CNI2 offers a multi-channel, pulse recording, cellular wireless data logger, all in one composite case. It offers great benefits to users involved in energy measurement for billing, trading, load management, distribution engineering and custody transfer.
CNI2 makes gas meter pulses available remotely to the billing system, can be mounted directly on the meter and is battery operated. It provides significant installation and operational savings.
CNI2 is equipped with a host of features:
- Four pulse channel inputs provide 300 days of 60-minute data
- Wall or pipe mount and optional index mounted configurations
- Multi-band GSM/GPRS and CDMA/1XRTT digital cellular radio
- Cellular packet switched (IP) connectivity lowers communication costs
- Supports operation with static or dynamic IP addresses
- DES-based encryption for secure IP access
- Over-the-air (OTA) download of CNI2 operating system and configuration provides future-proofing
- Programmable interval sizes: 1, 5, 15, 30, 60 min. Depending on data input configuration, user-defined digital outputs may be available to provide pulse outputs or control signals
- Provides electrical isolation from telephone network.
