It supports real-time diagnostics, automated site creation, secure data handling, and flexible connectivity options including direct wired protocols (GPU, Modbus, HART), wireless protocol - Bluetooth Classic and encrypted remote diagnostics via HTTPS or VPN. How Does It Work?
Smart Connect operates as a secure, modular service tool that interfaces with Honeywell’s automatic tank gauging systems to streamline commissioning, diagnostics, and asset management. It connects to field assets—such as gauges, boards, tanks, and communication interfaces—using standard industrial protocols like Bluetooth Classic, GPU, Modbus, and HART.
Once installed, Smart Connect enables users to:
Scan and Diagnose Assets: Real-time scanning of connected devices provides instant feedback on operational status, helping identify faults and optimize performance.
Configure Sites and Equipment: Users can create new sites or import existing ones from legacy systems or backups. Each site includes a hierarchy of assets that can be configured and monitored.
Secure and Control Access: Smart Connect automatically applies file-level Access Control Lists (ACLs) and integrates role-based permissions to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive files.
Log and Monitor Events: A built-in event logger records system and user actions, which can be reviewed locally or via Windows Event Viewer for compliance and troubleshooting.
Backup and Restore: Users can create automated, policy-aligned backups of configurations and logs, ensuring data resilience and simplifying recovery.
