Experion® eServer is Honeywell’s web server solution based on Distributed System Architecture (DSA) that enables read-only access to the Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) anytime and anywhere. As a web server solution, Experion eServer provides scalable, low-cost and secure web access for any concurrent number of users.
What Is It?
Based on the patented Distributed System Architecture (DSA), Experion eServer is an integrated, view-only web server solution that offers secure access to real-time and historical process data from the control room. With just an Internet browser, Experion eServer users can view the same custom process graphics as those used by operations, irrespective of their location on the business network. Experion eServer provides the flexibility to accommodate a variety of user needs and requirements within an organization as well as maintaining the integrity of the process control system.
How Does It Work?
Experion eServer is based on Distributed System Architecture (DSA) and HMIWeb technology to provide dynamic and secure web-based read-only access to Experion displays. To preserve the integrity of the process control system, all casual users are directed toward a single eServer access point. Alarm and event information is blocked from view, ensuring that proprietary plant information is protected. Experion custom graphics are free from any requirement of translation or conversion, resulting in simplified site deployment. Experion eServer is also easy to maintain and does not require engineering or training on specific software.
What Problems Does It Solve?
Using Distributed System Architecture (DSA), Experion eServer supports enhanced decision-making processes by providing instant access across the plant, to live updates of Experion custom graphics and trends. It improves production uptime, preserves integrity of the process control system, assists with incident reduction and avoidance, supports rapid adaptation to changes in information needs across the plant and saves installation costs, while leveraging a site’s existing investments.
