Business Hiway

​Honeywell’s Business Hiway enables users to integrate their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with their plant historians such as Uniformance® PHD and Manufacturing Execution Systems such as the Business® FLEX family of applications.

Overview
What Is It?
Business Hiway offers comprehensive support for integration with SAP R/3, including certified interfaces. It also provides standard adapters and generic web services for integration between any Enterprise Resource Planning, supply chain management system and process and manufacturing execution system.
Users can utilize Business Hiway to reliably post plant information such as inventory changes and production status, and to download enterprise data such as orders and specifications. These plant-level capabilities help optimize operations so that the true financial promise of an Enterprise Resource Planning system can be realized. Business Hiway also supports industry standards such as ISA S95 and OAGIS that can help simplify requirements definition and reduce implementation and maintenance costs.

How Does It Work?
  • ​Business Hiway provides the following capabilities:
    • Read/write data access to Honeywell advanced applications that support:
    • Sending of validated material movements and closing inventory data from Production Balance
    • Sending LIMS samples and test results
    • Sending equipment run hours and operating parameters from PHD
    • Storing production or process orders in Operating Instructions
    • Storing material prices in Production Costing
    • Sending shipment nominations to and receiving actual shipment data from Movement Automation
    • XML Schema definition, mapping and data transformation
  • Event-based workflow initiation
  • Optional connections to Enterprise Resource Planning systems
  • Accelerators for rapid implementation of common integration scenarios.
