Improved Manipulation Protection

Economic challenges and increased energy costs are causing an uptick in gas theft at gas meters. To help utilities combat this growing and costly phenomenon, we’ve introduced new features that complement our comprehensive tamper protection and detection solution for Honeywell Diaphragm Gas Meter (BK series), namely a grey and a transparent fragile Index Cover (SAN) and a Smart Metrological Seal.

These new product features provide higher protection against manipulation and more efficient and faster on-site check of installed Diaphragm Gas Meter with regards to manipulation detection. That leads to a higher share of detected tampered gas meters as well as less manipulated gas meters in the network, because of a higher deterrent effect and a higher effort to manipulate gas meters.

The new index covers and the Smart Seal are applicable for new Diaphragm Gas Meter but also for re-calibrated Honeywell Diaphragm Gas Meter of the already installed meter base.
